3rd Annual Portland Pirate Festival

This years swashbuckling events are likely to include exciting cannon battles, live parrots, dancing, juggling, live music and fancy puppetry! You will find the King’s Navy mingling with stilt-walkers, wandering buccaneers, clowns, and balladeers. This two day extravaganza features wandering performers of every shape and size. You will be thoroughly entertained by historical reenactments from the Redcoats, Pirates and Privateers which will include live cannons and mock sword fighting! The Portland Pirate Festival has something for everyone as a wonderful family event or great date.

Children will be fascinated by the kids play area with 30 foot slides, several inflatable rides and the Clowns Unlimited 24-foot climbing wall. Suitable fun (free tattoos, balloons, face painting etc.) for a variety of ages, from toddler to adult. There will also be an interactive strategy game “Pirates of the Cursed Seas” by WizKids!

Its not all fun and games (well actually, yes it is) you learn proper teachins’ at the history bazaar where you will find pirates, craftsmen and blacksmiths recreating life in a improvised island settlement. With hands-on historical displays and demonstrations designed to educate and entertain rascally scoundrelin’ scallywags  of all ages.

You shan’t fear scurvy as the food promises to be fit for a Pirate king! From the finest grog this side of the pond at the Rogue Brewery to the grub at the Lost Liner Cafe, the great Northwests finest restaurants supply their buccaneer best throughout the festival.

There is also a don’t miss family market with hand-made crafts and garb, trinkets, for all treasure seekers! It all takes place in historic Cathedral park alongside the clear waters of the Willamette, and framed by the majestic St. John’s Bridge.
