9th Annual Alberta Art Hop

May 11, 2008

Portland’s Alberta Street is up to its waist in art: galleries, street performers, crazy cobbled - together six foot tall bicycles, and of course Last Thursday. So it’s no surprise that every year the neighborhood organizes a larger, more organized event to celebrate all that the Alberta Art District has to offer.

The 9th Annual Alberta Art Hop will take place on Saturday, May 17th. Put on by Alberta business owners and artists, and coordinated by Art on Alberta, the theme of this year’s hop is “Synergy.” Artists and residents will use a variety of art forms to demonstrate what makes the Alberta Arts District such a unique and vibrant community.

Art Hop has a tradition of choosing one artist each year to feature for its annual celebration, strategically placing that person’s artwork at various locations on Alberta Street. Keeping in the spirit of this year’s theme, three artists were chosen this time: Adrienne Cruz, Analee Fuentes and Tripper Dungan. For more info on the 2008 Alberta Art Hop, check out their website.
