Hey Sarah, thanks for the comments...

Unfortunately I already made plans to do the Warrior Dash out in North Plains, so no Tour De Lab for me.

Oh, and don't worry - I just ride the 18 mile ride. That's plenty for me - and plenty fun! I'll be the one (of many) drinking Super Dog (LL's best beer) at the finish line.

I absolutely LOVE this event. Very fun. I rode 2 years ago with a group of coworkers and last with with 5 of my friends. This year I'm trying to get a big group together and we'll hang out at the Lucky Lab after the ride if the weather is as great as I hope it will be (like today!!!). This ride is my favorite ride of the end of the summer!

Jeff- are you riding? I hope to see you out there!

The bridges in Portland are some of the best I've seen in my 35 years in construction in 5 states. Bridges, as well as buildings have both character and functionality. It's interesting to note that most modern buildings have little if any character but most modern bridges exhibit strong character.

2014 will mark the 40th anniversary of the Portland Saturday Market. Has anyone thought of honoring the two women who actually started this outdoor market. Both of these women also played significant roles in developing the Oregon Country Fair. Sheri continues to live in Portland and continues to run a booth at the Country Fair.
Both Sheri and Andrea made a significant impact on the city of Portland and their contribution should be recognized and honored.

First of all, let me say that who ever chooses the music, is the coolest of the cool. I keep Erykah Badu, Jill Scott and John Legend in my car rentals and on my mp3 player, and I've been at Broders Cafe 3 times, and all three times, I was able to groove to all three artists while enjoying some great food. The music is something I wouldn't expect from a Swedish Cafe (considering I'm always the only person of color each time I have gone), so it was very welcome. the staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is great each time. When friends come to visit, I must add this cafe to the list of places to bring them to. I was there for my 3rd time on sunday, and the same Jill Scott cd that was playing was the same cd I was listening to on the way to the cafe! This last time I had baked eggs over a potato and beef hash, and walnut toast. AS delicious as the music.
