I’ve been going to the Lompoc Fifth Quadrant all winter. It always makes for a great meeting place. I know the brewer personally, Bryan Keilty–a great guy who makes really great beer. Now with spring in the air and summer more than just a glint in the eye, the annual Portland happy hour renaissance is underway. We’re off to the land of sunny patios and completely unproductive weeknight evenings spent drinking beer. And Lompoc Fifth Quadrant is ready to help you do just that. With $3.00 appetizer dishes like artichoke hearts, a hummus plate, nachos, clams, fries, etc. and $2.75 beers you can live like a prince on a pauper’s budget. The food is pretty good, but the beer is phenomenal–my favorite in Portland actually. And on Tuesdays pints are $2.00 all night! Try year-round staples like the LSD (Lompoc Strong Draft) or the hop-heavy C-Note Imperial Pale Ale. Or venture into one of Lompoc’s interesting seasonal beers (currently they have a bunch of really good Belgium-style ales and lagers). Either way, you won’t be disappointed. The space Lompoc moved into used to be an auto shop, so the whole place has an industrial loft feel to it, contrasted with long, public house style wooden booths. And there is a really nice outdoor patio for warm evenings. See you there (seriously, I’m moving dangerously close to the Fifth Quadrant next month, which could be the beginning of my pleasant demise)!
