Just when you thought there was no hope in finding some real authentic Mexican food in the Portland area, La Isla Bonita came along and set up shop in our little town of Tualatin.

La Isla Bonita has some of the most amazing Mexican food and margaritas I have ever had.  The staff is so friendly and fun too!  Since they opened up about 9 months ago, I found myself going so many times that one of the owners invited me to his son’s baptismal.  It was the most amazing experience and everyone was so welcoming and hospitable.

You can’t go wrong with a Cadillac margarita, of course, and the Burrito Manadero, Mole Enchiladas and Arroz Con Camarones are some of my favorite dishes.  They make fresh tortilla chips, salsa and bean dip daily, and serve you up almost even before you sit down.  All the dishes are very affordable.

The owners are from a small town a couple of hours outside of Los Cabos and everything in the restaurant was handmade by locals of Guadalajara.  The back of the booths are gorgeously hand carved and brightly painted and all of the walls have murals painted on them as well.
