Morrison Hotel Bar

May 9, 2008

Ever since I saw the spot-on Doors album decal on the front window I’d been meaning to check out the Morrison Hotel Bar. And when I finally did, I was back two nights later. From the owner of Blue Monk on Belmont comes another great Portland bar/restaurant. The space is tastefully peppered with cool (not cheesy) 60’s rock memorabilia like tickets stubs and small photos yet still maintains a dim, clubby elegance. The menu consists of Spanish and Mediterranean-inspired small plate dishes like lamb on homemade flatbread. They sport an imported bottled beer menu of 80 plus (heavy on the Belgium) and a really good rotating tap selection (Ninkasi anyone?). The Morrison Hotel is one of those rare places that works for everyone.
