A charming, English-style pub, the  Muddy Rudder is a favorite hang-out in Sellwood, and for good reason: a cozy, old fashioned ambiance, friendly service, and an amazing selection of local microbrews and well-regarded imported beers. It’s the kind of comfortable, neighborhood hang-out where you can snuggle up to an amazing IPA you’ve never heard of before by the fireplace. Be sure to check the chalkboard for what’s currently on tap – it changes frequently. Also worth a glance is the live music schedule for a good range of folky/Irish melodies. The music seems to perfectly compliment Muddy Rudder’s dimly-lit, woodsy atmosphere.

All this makes for quite a draw, but Muddy Rudder’s surprisingly easy to miss, even though it’s located at the corner of SE 7th and Tacoma, just before the Sellwood Bridge. Happy Hour gets you $3 pints 3pm – 6pm, Tuesday – Sunday.
