Barack Obama Returns to Portland

Following yet another dramatic but indecisive round of primaries yesterday (Indiana and North Carolina), it appears the show must go on for Obama and Clinton. And you know what that means? Oregon is the next (and maybe last) BIG showdown state! Senator Clinton has already invested much time and money into her Oregon bid, airing commercials and unleashing her tireless husband and daughter to lay down the carpet for her.
Now it’s Barack Obama’s turn. Following his electric speech to a packed, U2 concert-esque crowd at Memorial Coliseum on March 21st, the delegate count front-runner is set to return to Oregon this Friday and Saturday, according to a spokesperson at Obama headquarters in Portland. Interestingly enough, Senator Obama’s visit will overlap with Hillary Clinton, who will be in Oregon Thursday and Friday. Clinton has scheduled a stop Thursday at Central Point near Medford, but no other events have been confirmed. Republican candidate John McCain also plans a Portland stop on Monday.
Most Oregonians have already received their mail-in ballots and can cast them as soon as they want. The final vote will be counted on May 20.
What do you think about all this? Should Hillary bow out gracefully? The math is pretty conclusive and, in our opinion, this relentless campaign is only doing damage to a divided Democratic party who’ s attention should, by now, be primarily focused on defeating John McCain. This just in: Clinton’s appearance in Central Point will take place at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Olsrud Arena at the Jackson County Fairgrounds and Expo Park.
The location of her Portland appearance is yet to be decided
