Join the Oregon Food Bank on November 7th for their annual Oregon Harvest Dinner! You’ll be thoroughly entertained and well fed at this circus-themed gala event while also supporting the Oregon Food Bank’s mission to end hunger in Oregon. Kicking off the evening is the cocktail reception with drinks featuring New Deal Vodka. You’ll encounter roving minstrels, play carnival games, and enjoy appetizers from New Seasons. The dinner will be prepared by well-regarded local chefs Ben Dyer (Simpatica Dining Hall, Laurelhurst Vodka) and David Machado (Nel Centro, Vindalho). Desserts by Cupcake Jones, Two Tarts Bakery, and Julie Richardson (of Baker and Spice) are sure to be delicious and so cute. All this plus Chris Coleman (artistic director for Portland Center Stage) as emcee plus the live music of 3 Leg Torso (kind of like eclectic folk chamber music, with an accordian)? Get tickets here!
Have you seen the Oregon Food Bank’s warehouse yet? It’s amazing. I recently volunteered with the Food Bank and got a chance to tour the space with an OFB coordinator. Not only is it a surprisingly beautiful, but it’s extremely functional – they move about a million pounds of donated food a month! In fact, it’s the only warehouse built specifically for a Food Bank in the US.
