Portland Art MuseumThe Portland Art Museum, located in downtown Portland, Oregon was founded in 1892. Following a ten-year, $125 million dollar renovation and expansion plan (completed in 2005), the Portland Art Museum became one of the twenty-five largest art museums in the United States, housing more than 40,000 works of art. The museum features a Center for Native American Art, a Center for Northwest Art, a Center for Modern and Contemporary Art, permanent exhibitions of Asian Art, the Northwest Film Center, as well as an outdoor public sculpture garden. Throughout the majority of the year, major traveling exhibitions are also presented.
