Portland Zine Symposium

Zines and Portland go together like bacon and maplebars. With local specialty shops like Reading Frenzy (921 SW Oak St) and the impressive zine library at IPRC (Independent Publishing Resource Center), Portland is a DIY publishing epicenter of sorts. Which makes it no surprise the annual zine symposium has been such a success.

The Portland Zine Symposium explores the different facets of underground publishing and DIY culture in order to galvanize the diverse community of creators. This fun and free event helps people promote their work and to share skills and information related to zines and zine culture. Through workshops, panels and discussions, Portland Zine Symposium explores the role and effect of all types of zines. And there will of course be plenty of tables of creative folks trading, buying and selling zines. Admission is free!
