Portland’s Cyclist Community

Portland is developing quite a reputation for taking great lengths to “Going Green” [treehugger.com], and a big contributor to this is the cyclist community [NY Times Video]. You can’t stroll down any roads within city limits without dodging some one on a bike. Whether it be a cruiser with a straw basket, or a cyclist decked out in spandex, you can’t miss em’. The city of Portland has made big plans for the future of bikers. They will be adding more biker friendly accessibility throughout the city, and plan on spending $24 million towards these additions. So whatever your reasons are for cycling, if it’s to tone up, save the planet, or cruise in our annual “World Naked Bike Ride”, I am sure you will find your place among our cyclist community.
