Queer Doc Film Festival
May 23, 2008
Portland Queer Documentary Film Festival (QDoc) is the only festival in the the U.S. (and just the second in the world) devoted exclusively to queer documentaries. QDoc is organized and presented by Russ Gage and David Weissman. For nearly a decade, Russ was Operations Director of the San Francisco International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, the oldest and largest LGBT Film Festival in the world. David is a veteran film maker best known for his award winning feature documentary, The Cockettes (2002).
Filmmakers from around the world will be present to discuss their work at this fun, community-building event held May 29th - June 1st at Clinton Street Theater. Screenings are presented in conjunction with community groups that have particular interest in the subject matter of specific films.
For the second straight year, QDoc organizers have worked closely with Portland Q-Center, whose mission is to increase the visibility of, and foster connection within, metropolitan Portland’s Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Questioning (LGBTQ) community.
