Time-Based Art (TBA) Festival is Here!

Portland Institute for Contemporary Art’s (PICA) Time-Based Art Festival has been one of those elusive Portland festivals to me. I’ve never quite understood what it was all about, but I’ve always been curious. According to their website, TBA is an “annual convergence of contemporary performance, dance, music, new media and visual arts projects.” Now in its sixth year, the 2008 TBA Festival runs from September 4-14, with visual art installations running until October 4.

What seems cool to me about this fest is that it celebrates every kind of contemporary art, giving them all an equal spotlight. For more information about opening night and the rest of the TBA schedule, visit PICA’s website.
