Voodoo Doughnut Too!

May 29, 2008

Voodoo Doughnut is barefoot and very pregnant. Soon it will be the proud parent of a precocious baby girl. This new wild child will live at 1501 NE Davis Street, right across from Portland dive bar institution The Sandy Hut. Owners Tres Shannon and Kenneth “Cat Daddy” Pogson are pulling out all the stops this time. Besides their world-famous donuts, Voodoo Doughnut Too will boast legal weddings, Wiffle ball, uphill badminton, Swahili lessons, a DJ booth, a Quadphonic (vinyl) jukebox and bike-in movies. The idea of opening a second shop has been two years in the works and will finally become a reality on May 30th when the annual Voodoo Doughnut Parade will lead a procession of donut lovers from the flagship location across the river to their new playground. The march begins at 6:45 pm, so come on out and support your favorite donut artisans in their bold new venture!
